Arrival Date 2/14/2015 John Prince Park Campground - Lake Worth FL
Our second stay at John Prince Park was one week. There was only one site available so we got a site with only electric and water; no sewer. Although we liked this park the first time we stayed here, this time were some issues this time. The lack of a sewer is an annoyance. Worse they did not tell us that they had a honey wagon that would pump us out two days of the week. The cost was $10 a pump and you had to schedule it in advance. I paid the $10 and scheduled the pump out for Thursday because there was a holiday and the day was shifted to Thursday. Don’t you know the night before we could not wait and went to the dump station. Although I cancelled the honey wagon they would not refund my money. The same thing happened when Linda bought tokens for the laundry and could not use them because it was to busy. They would not refund the money for those tokens either. Needless to say we were less than pleased with the park this second time around.
On Sunday 2/15/2015 we went to visit Dan and Jan Sullivan in Pompano Beach FL. They live in Annandale in the non-winter. They own a condo on the fourth floor of a 10 story building that is on the intracoastel waterway. It’s a beautiful condo that they have completly renovated. The balcony/deck over looking the intracoastal waterway was a great place to sit and watch the boats go buy. Their location is excellent. From their back balcony you overlook the intracoastal. From their front walkway (to the front door) you overlook the Atlantic ocean with a lighthouse on the point that is access to the Atlantic from the intracoastal. It was fun to see them, we hung out overlooking the intracoastal waterway, then walked the beach on the Atlantic, and to finish the afternoon / early evening we went to dinner at a great restaurant. The pizza was surpurb.
While we were at John Prince campground we took advantage again of access to a great mobile repair business. We replace the valve to the toilet which had caused a couple of water overflows in the pas week. Just throw about $100 at the problem and done.
On Tuesday we played golf at Presidents Golf Club in West Palm Beach. Good course but we played later than planned and could just barely finish.
On Wednesday we played North Palm Beach CC. Great course and fun. It Beat me up (lots of trouble and lost balls) but we really liked it.
On of the nice things about his park is they have about a 5.5 mile walking/bike path around the park. by making it a round trip I could get in 11 or 12 miles. Many days I could get in some nice rides.
After John Prince we are off to Point of View RV Park in Key Largo FL.
